Changes at LEAP - information for local families

There is lots on offer across Lambeth for families with babies and young children.

Although LEAP's programme is ending in September 2024, most LEAP services are now being delivered by other organisations in Lambeth, offering continuity for families.

LEAP has supported the development of an exciting new consortium of local community organisations called First5Lambeth who are now providing a wide range of weekly activity sessions for families in the early years. Visit First5Lambeth to find what is on offer or follow @First5lambeth Instagram account.

Visit Lambeth Parent Support Services to find out about all the free support and courses for pregnant people and parents with young children.

Activities and services for families in Lambeth

LEAP’s programme is drawing to an end in September 2024

Most LEAP services are now being delivered by other organisations in Lambeth. The Lambeth family information service provides information about a wide range of Lambeth services.

Lambeth children’s centres are hubs which host activities, and provide support and a central point for families. Take a look at Better Start Children's Centre timetables | Lambeth Council.

LEAP learning reports are rich sources of information and analysis. They are available on our Story of LEAP website.

Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP) is one of five local partnerships which make up A Better Start — a national ten-year (2015-2025) programme funded by the National Lottery Community Fund that aims to improve the life chances of babies, very young children, and families.

Over the lifetime of the Programme, LEAP has reached a total of 15,374 families, exceeding the original aim to reach more than 10,000 families. Feedback from families about LEAP services is extremely positive. Despite the challenging context for many families in Lambeth, LEAP’s work has had a beneficial effect on outcomes for children, and LEAP’s parenting services have helped parents and carers to feel more knowledgeable and confident about their parenting.

If you have any questions, comments, or worries then do get in touch with us by email. You can also pop any feedback or questions into our feedback box at upcoming sessions.
